Waikapu Village Luau

The Waikapu Village Luau has been discontinued for now.

Unlike other Maui luaus, the Waikapu Village Luau is not near the ocean. The luau is held in Maui's central valley on the grounds of the Maui Tropical Plantation & Country Store - a 60 acre working planatation located at 1670 Honoapiilani (Highway 30) between mile markers 2 and 3 (look for the windmill on the way to Iao Valley).

Because this luau is not held on a hotel lawn, the setting has its own distinctive look and feel - scroll down this page to view the layout of the plantation grounds.

The plantation contains fields of tropical fruits and flowers, which you can view on a tram ride through Hawaii's most popular crops - including papaya, guava, mango, macadamia nuts, coffee, avocado, bananas, sugar cane and star fruit.

There is also a Hawaiian village set where you can participate in activities such as husking a coconut.

Rather than the ocean, a lagoon and mountains form a backdrop for the luau stage. Expect the same level of professional presentation as the hotel luaus - the luau itself is put on by the same company (Tihati) that produces several other Maui luaus.

The Waikapu Village Luau is presented from 5:30pm to 8:30PM two evenings a week - Friday and Sunday. Expect to pay about $75 for adults, and about half that for children. Add $10 a person for reserved seating close to the luau stage.
