Maui Beaches: Fleming Beach
D.T. Fleming Beach Park on Maui was rated as the best beach in America in 2006 for a good reason. Combine the park facilities with a lot of sand and you have the perfect vacation beach.
With sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and bodyboarding (boogie boarding, Fleming Beach offers many of the amenities minus the crowds of Kaanapali Beach. But what makes this a great beach for us is all the extras that come with being part of a park - parking lot, easy beach access, restrooms, fresh water shower, picnic tables, barbeque grills, shaded area, grass area, lifeguards, and seaside grill. Surfers and stand up paddle boarders use the right hand side of the beach.
The wave action is perfect for bodyboarders (boogie boards).

Surf and wave conditions are posted on a dry erase board at the lifeguard shack on the beach. Notice the no snorkeling today entry.
Directions. Fleming Beach is near the Ritz Carlton hotel at Kapalua. Drive north of Kaanapali on Highway 30. Turn at the green sign for Lower Honoapiilani Road between Mile Markers 31 and 32.
We didn't appreciate the parking lot and quick beach access at Fleming Park until we went to some other beaches that were difficult to reach.
Fleming Beach also has picnic tables, barbeque grills, shade trees and a grassy area.
The fresh water shower lets you clean up some before going back to the hotel or airport.
The Beach House Bar and Grill looks out over the view at Fleming Beach. This is part of the Ritz Carlton Kapalua.
You can see the Ritz Carlton Kapalua fron the left hand side of Fleming Beach.
Today's beach warnings are posted at the beach entrance from the Beach House Bar and Grill.
