Free Maui
Free Maui lists on this one page free Maui activities, destinations, and shows that are scattered around this site.
You have plenty of opportunities to spend money and see lots of advertising for activites like Maui luaus, Maui snorkeling trips, Maui whale watching boats, and Maui tours.
This page gives you a break from all that spending. This page helps you discover how to do many of these same activities on your own for free. That's why I call it Free Maui.
Free Maui Shows
Want to see a luau show, but not spend any money?
The best free Maui hula show is on an outdoor stage at Kaanapali's Whalers Village.
A free Maui hula show in the middle of a outdoor shopping mall parking lot? Lahaina Center does a good job of mingling a free show with some Hawaiian culture at the free outdoor exhibit Hale Kahiko (ancient house) - a replica of a Hawaiian village.
Free Maui Culture and History
How about inserting some Free Maui culture and history into your visit to Lahaina and Front Street? While you are visiting the famous Banyan Tree Park or Lahaina Harbor, you will be walking by many historic and cultural sites.
Print out the 30 minute Lahaina Historic Trail and take it with you to Maui.

All Maui beaches are free. But many Maui beaches have limited shoreline access and little parking.

Maui has black sand beaches, red sand beaches, classic white sand beaches, and lava rock beaches. And they're all free.
Free Maui Volcano Haleakala
Most Maui vacationers drive to the summit of the Maui volcano Haleakala. This trip is almost free, the only cost is a $10 per car entrance fee to Haleakala National Park.
In addition to viewing the volcano crater, you can also use the free hiking paths such as Sliding Sands Trail down into the center of Haleakala.
Free Maui Road to Hana
Parts of the road to Hana was added to the National Register of Historic Places on 2001.
Be prepared to see waterfalls, steep cliffs, ocean views, rugged lava beaches, black sand beaches and red sand beaches. Just past Hana is Oheo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools), part of Haleakala National Park.

You don't have to pay for a boat to take you to the humpback whales. You can watch for them from all types of vantage points such as beaches, cliffs, restaurants, and your hotel room.
