Hecocks Ocean View Dining is our favorite breakfast spot for a simple reason - great Maui ocean view with a total absence of crowds.
And we sometimes spot whales in the ocean toward the island of Lanai while we enjoy our leisurely breakfast.
The large omelots and basic entres are reasonably priced at around seven dollars. Wait service is low key and casual (slow). The dining is almost open air because the wall facing the ocean consists of large windows with no window panes. Because of this, small birds often approach the window tables or wander the aisles searching for crumbs. Some became our friends after a week of breakfasts. Feast at Lele Luau from Hecocks
The tables and lights just outside the restaurant are for the
Feast at Lele luau, which is held nightly on the beach between Hecocks and the ocean.
The Feast at Lele is a very upscale luau, with waiters bringing several courses right to your table as you watch several shows. We often have breakfast here and finally tried combining dinner with a free view of the Feast at Lele luau. This is an economical way to watch a popular Maui luau while enjoying dinner at Hecocks and we had a great time doing it.

Because Hecocks is tucked away in the back of a shopping area (505 Front Street) at the South end of town, few visitors are aware of this Lahaina restaurant.
